It’s always been my policy as not only a creator but also just a human being to be honest and open in all that I do.   Therefore I feel the need to let you all know that for quite a while now I’ve been unhappy with my work, especially my early work.  It’s no lie that I’ve been very busy and have had little time to make pages, but I’ve found that even in my spare moments it’s been hard to motivate myself to put more pages out there.  I feel discouraged.   I believe in the story and characters that I have created but even when I updated regularly I retained very few viewers.  And even though I do this because I love it, I also aspire to one day make a living creating artwork and comics.  This makes it extra disheartening to see very little viewer retention.  My theory is that potential viewers find my comic, more or less like what they see, take a look at my first pages and subsequently peace out because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I first started and it really shows.  Would-be readers just can’t get into the comic.

I really don’t think it has much to do with the story or the characters being bland or uninteresting. Maybe a little bit confusing at times, but… I think it mainly has to do with the lackluster artwork and nonsensical paneling/dialogue in the beginning.  I barely ever even drew backgrounds because I wasn’t confident in my own abilities.  My comic suffered for it.

That being said, I’d like to let you all know what I’m planning from here onward.  I just graduated from college, and I’m only 23 years old.  Time is, at least for right now, on my side.  I am going to do a reboot of The Sundown Boys.  I’ll go through the script and trim the fat, re-organize or re-envision the events that have taken place so far and, obviously, update each and every page.  The story and characters aren’t changing so much as the way certain things have been introduced.  The character designs will be updated, but every character should still be very recognizable.  I have a lot of ideas and I’m finally feeling excited about making comics again.

I look forward to being able to share my story with you from the beginning.  I hope you’ll stick with me and that you’ll believe in my story as much as I do.  Head to my Facebook, Tumblr or Twitter to see my progress.
